Fight Night/Ladies Night

On Saturday evening we dropped the kids off at Allen's Mom's & went over to the Whiddons for fight night & the Powell's were there also. The men watched all of the fights & we ladies watched a couple of knock outs but mainly had some great conversation & wine. We served our men BBQ'd hamburgers & had a fruit crisp served over vanilla ice cream for dessert. As usual it was such a nice evening with our friends. I love my girls!

My dear friend Jessica was in Hawaii on my Birthday so she wanted to take me to lunch when she got back.

and just where do you think she took me? All you can eat sushi of course! :)

While we ate lunch Jessica's Mom watched all of the kids & they went swimming.

While I was taking pictures of the kids in the pool my friend Jessica excused herself for a moment & reappeared with some brownies! It was so sweet of her! Thank you Jessica for your friendship, for making me feel so special & for being such a blessing in my life!

Painted Earth & Pat N Oscars

Yesterday we went to Painted Earth with my friend's Kim & Caroline & their kiddos. This is a really fun place where the kids can pick out a ceramic piece they want, paint it, then they fire it & we pick it up in a week.

Ashley was so excited

She picked out a dog & wanted to make it look like Ruby! :)
Her unfired finished product.

Christian picked out a skateboard
He had a lot of fun too~
He made his skateboard look like an American flag, he did a great job

After Painted Earth we had lunch at Pat N Oscars on the pond. Then we fed the ducks & the kids ran around & played.
All the kids (from Lft): Hailee, Danielle, Caleb, Ashley, Christian & Slade

Happy Da......Bee stings?

On Sunday the 5th (as if we didn't have enough sun the day before on the 4th of July) we went down to the beach in Oceanside, or as Ashley would call it Happy Da Beach! Our dear friend's the Turnure's joined us & it was a great day! (aside from all the adults getting sunburned & B getting stung by a bee.)
Christian & Caleb

Ashley before the bee sting!

This is how she was playing & then when she got to her knees there was a bee on the sand & it stung her shin. I had to pull the bee & it's stinger off of her, she was screaming so loud, people came over & asked if she had been stung by a Jelly Fish! I had heard of an old remedy where you hold a penny on it & it stops the pain & draws out the poison. I thought it was a better time than any to try it out & to my surprise it actually works!

After that she was scared to go on the sand for a while so Daddy carried her around. I love this picture!

Everyone is looking at the ground because there were bees everywhere. I have never in my life gone to the beach & saw so many bees! There were no flowers around! Ashley ended up hanging out in this big hole the boys had dug up, I guess she felt safe in there ;)
Christian even plays baseball on the beach! He does love to boogie board too! I love watching my kids have fun at the beach! It makes all of the sand that gets in EVERY crack worth it! :)
My handsome tan boy!
The boys had a lot of fun digging & building, that's what boys do!
It was so funny Ashley got over her fears & was just sitting in this chair for a while directing the boys on what to do. The boys are happily working away building a fortress from the water!
She is such a character! She was warning the boys that the waves were coming
The water ended up making it's way in! The kids had so much fun!
Afterwards we went to a yummy Mexican food restaurant.

What a great day!

All~Star Game # 1

On the 27th & 28th Christian had his 1st All-Star games. They played at 8am in the morning & again at 12pm in Hemet. They won both games, then on Sun. they played again at 10am and won that game as well. This was after playing 2 scrimmage games on Wed. & Thurs. against the Murrieta Red All-Stars (which are supposed to be the "better" team) & the Temecula Red team. They beat both of those teams as well! Up to this point they had played 5 total games & were undefeated!

Our handsome All-Star boy!
These games are so fun to watch because all of the boys on these All-Star teams are great ball players. It's almost like going to a professional baseball game but way better because Christian's playing!

This is what Ashley does the whole time at the games, she sits in her chair & eats sunflower seeds & candy!

The whole team
Go Murrieta Blue All-Stars!

Ashley's 1st Dentist Appointment(s)

2 weeks ago I took both kids in to get their teeth cleaned & Ashley to get her cavity filled. They cleaned her teeth & she did really well. They wanted to schedule her filling for 2 weeks later.
Happy go lucky

While they were cleaning her teeth, her feet never left this position! I didn't blame her.

Today we went back to get the cavity filled which actually turned into needing a baby root canal. She did so awesome! I of course had them give her the laughing gas, I wish I would have have brought my video camera. I was laughing so much at her silliness that I had tears in my eyes! The girl is crazy & silly enough without any meds! She has been complaining about her face being numb but that's it!

When we got home I took these pix. She doing a FULL cheese smile & this is how it looks!

Too Funny, I just love her to pieces!

Precious Time with Precious friends

To celebrate my Birthday my girlfriends Kim & Marney made me the most delicious dinner. We started this tradition last December for Kimberlee's Birthday. We can imagine ourselves being 60 years old & still cooking dinner for each other's Birthdays.

First Kim made an appetizer: Artichokes with Gorgonzola cheese, oh my goodness were they good!

Sweet Marney & I

Lovely Kim & I

For dinner Kim made a delicious asparagus, prosciutto & sun dried tomato lasagna. Marney made one of the most delicious salads that I have ever tasted! Dessert was one of my favorites that Marney makes, Homemade Smores! I cannot even begin to tell you how much I LOVE this dessert, when I found out that that is what she made I was SO HAPPY!
Marney got me a beautiful & very thoughtful Mom's prayer travel mug & Kim got me the Life House c.d. that I love.

Thank you both so much for making me feel so special & for the thoughtful gifts. Most of all for being such precious friends, I treasure both of you.

Father's Day 2009

On Father's day I made Blueberry pancakes & we went to church. Allen decided that for Father's day he would like to go the Del Mar Fair. The kids had never been to a fair before & it had been several years for Allen & I.
Before we went to the fair Allen wanted to stop at Juice It Up! Whatever Daddy wants on Father's Day, Daddy gets!
Right when we got there they had a freestyle Motocross show. This is one of Allen's favorite things to watch, even Ashley enjoyed it & couldn't believe they could flip their bikes upside down & then land.
Next we went to an exhibit where the kids could shop in a little store from a list they were given & at the end when they "checked out" they got a prize. It was really cute & they all enjoyed searching for the items.
The kids had fun at the petting (or more the appropriately named feeding) zoo.

They got pet a baby piggy!

We had joked around with the kids on the way to the fair, that at the fair there are only pigs & you just watch the pigs in their crates all day. So it was funny when we saw a huge pig sleeping in it's pin that we got a picture with it behind us. I really think if all they had were pigs Ashley would have still been happy. When they found out there were rides they were so excited!

Our friend Dave & his daughter Rubie met us there. Ashley & her are great friends & we enjoy hanging out with Dave as well. Here they are all checking out the different feed for the animals
Christian riding the rocking boat ride they all loved this one. It's kind of like the dragon swing but it spins as it goes back a forth.

I was surprised Ashley wanted to ride the roller coaster but I think she just wanted to because Rubie wanted to. She loved it though!
The kids loved going on the bumper boats! Even Ashley did because she wasn't getting sprayed like at Mulligans and she could do it all by herself.

Me & my B on the Ferris Wheel, you can't tell but we are stopped at the very top.

It was a great Father's Day! Thank you for being such a wonderful Daddy to our 2 blessings.
